I’ve tried so hard to escape the same, but still its clutches pulled me in�"deeper and deeper into the recesses of my own filth. Scared? Don’t be, I’m simply talking about residential cleaning. I know you’ll agree with me when I say that a weekend will not be complete without house cleaning, right? Wouldn’t it be beautiful to omit such task from your to-do list? With maid services, all of these will just be a figment of your imagination. Those words almost brought tears to my eyes---cleaning…only a figment. (I’m getting a little exaggerated here, aren’t I?) For a person who is always on the go, house cleaners provide something intangible---assistance, order and time. In here, I’ll share to you my stance with regard the pros and cons of maid services.
They guarantee satisfaction. I’ve browsed through a handful of websites offering cleaning services; a majority of them takes it upon themselves to assure customer satisfaction. They propose that if their clients are not fully contented with the work done, they’ll be back the following day to clean the house---free of charge. Only a few guarantees customer satisfaction, more often than not, these are the same establishments that firmly stand behind their works.

Changing Cleaning Ladies. Meticulous, this is a trait that I want my residential cleaners to have. Every individual has his own preference. Be it in the kitchen, bedroom or bathroom, every item has its place; a good cleaning lady knows this by heart. Of course, you should first tell her what you want, be specific as possible (she’s not psychic, you know.) One may opt to do an inventory together with the house cleaners. If the shelves need dusting, mark your valuables clearly. You may also try keeping the items in a safe place during the cleaning. Again, if you’re not satisfied with your current maids, the cleaning company will send another batch.

Cleaning Supplies and Equipments. The cleaning company shoulders these. You need not supply them with virtually anything, except entry to your house and ground rules, perhaps. If you have allergies, make it known before hand. You may request that the maid service company use HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filters when vacuuming. On call. If you need immediate cleaning, you can count on them. All clutter in the kitchen, dining area and bedroom gets put away. Checking any loosen or broken items is also part of this process. Beds are stripped, too. This is my only beef with my current cleaning service.
Other Cons. These other cons occur when you don’t know how to select the right company to do the job. I’ve discussed this topic in my previous article. But for those who weren’t able to read the same, I’ll give you a brief rundown of the cons:
If it’s a small, family-owned business, their equipments are probably sub par when compared to those of the conglomerates. Also, in a family-owned, they have limited cleaning maids---sometimes, you’re stuck with just one and there is no one to replace her. When your cleaning lady is sick, most likely there is no one that’ll be able to substitute, in her place, in such a short notice. Huge companies can and will offer different maids until you’re contented with their cleaning. As for the costs, hands down my vote goes to the family-owned establishments.
When the company is neither licensed nor insured. License is important; this can be used to gather information with regard the company like background and reference checks. Then there is the insurance. If something goes wrong while the maid is in your house, you cannot claim damages against the cleaning company. You have to shoulder everything. You would even be liable for any injury that occurred within the premises of your home if the company has no insurance.

With these cons, still I have to admit, my house would probably reek without my trustee residential cleaners. After putting in at least 50 hours a week in work, I’m too exhausted to clean my own mess. All in all, I’d still prefer to have a cleaning lady. But remember, that choosing the right cleaning company is crucial.
